Pink Ribbon Highlights: Vonvon At Walk for World Pink 2009

The month of October is coming to an end. So here are some of the activities that I have participated so far in the Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

One of them is Walk For World Pink organised by Estee Lauder Companies.

As the saying goes, "A picture paints a thousand words". I'll let these photos tell you about my participation in the Walk For World Pink.........

Walk For World Pink at Menara Kuala Lumpur
Participants registering and getting their T-shirts, a buzzing of activities, including face painting, where there were makeup artists painting the Pink Ribbon on our faces!

I requested for the Pink Ribbon to be painted on both my cheeks!

The starting line of the Pink Walk

All the participants walking downhill from Menara KL

The places we walked passed..........Hard Rock Cafe also had Pink Ribbons painted on their outlet's front glass!

Me and Kitty, a reader of mine
She spotted me while we were walking downhill and we both chatted all the way which made the Walk easier ;-)

October 3rd 2009 also coincided with the Mid-Autumn Festival and we saw a group of ladies carrying lanterns and lighted them up as dusk approached.

Me and Kitty at the foothill of Bukit Nenas
with the KL Tower in the background on the hill

The highlight of the evening was of course, the Illumination of the KL Tower in PINK!
(My camera wasn't powerful enough to get good pix)

And the goodie bag I got from the Walk,
a 15ml bottle of the latest Estee Lauder new ANR

Hi Sherry,

I went by myself....can't stand taking my little girl along.....imagine I had to carry her for the whole 3.8KM walk??? Instantly would have lost 10kg, except I'll end up with severe body ache and joint pain, etc etc...

Aww, you supported them even more with your purchases. Good on you. Now you have 2 pink shirts. Hope you had a nice walk!

Ah, 15mls of ANR. I must say i quite like it. Besides the scent, which is pretty strong!

Hi abby,

The 2 pink shirts are different. The one I got for the walk is like the normal round-neck T and I got it in size L which was a bit too big for me. And the one I bought is much nicer, a polo T-shirt.

Hi Vonvon,

Luckily I spotted you that day, it will be quite lonely if I walk alone. This is the first time I paticipate in such a meaningful walk!

Hi Kitty,

Glad we met. There will be another walk for cancer research - The Terry Fox Run, this Sunday at Tasik Perdana, 7AM. Would you like to join?

I will join the Terry Fox Run with my family on this Sunday. My husband told me about this run last two week ago.

Hope to see you again on this Sunday :)

Hi Kitty,

Hope to see you there again.....assuming we could find each other again in the huge crowd!!! I'll be bringing my little girl this time as my youngest sis will also go and she can help me take care of her esp my little girl always wants to be carried.
