Wearing the proper undergarments is like having a tummy tuck and other procedures without having to go under the knife. ;)

A couple of months ago, I received an invitation card sent out by Parkson to attend the Wacoal "X" Factor womens only event which was to be held at the Wacoal Counter at Level 1 of Gurney Plaza in Penang. Attendance was strictly by RSVP only. There was a choice of two sessions, 2.00-4.00pm or 7.00-9.00pm either on the 7th or the 8th of October, 2010. I decided to RSVP for the one on the evening of the 7th of October, 2010.
The Invite
Due to the usual traffic snarl, that evening I arrived at the Wacoal Counter at around 7.10pm and duly presented myself at the Registration Counter. I was given an envelope containing two vouchers and a customer profile form to fill in, which I was told to keep until the end of the event as it contained a Lucky Draw number and also entitled one to the Goodie Bag which was to be given out at the very end of the presentation.
The event kicked off at around 7.20pm that evening with a brief presentation about the importance of knowing your measurements and size when it comes to choosing undergarments. It seems that many women out there are either unaware that they are wearing the wrong undergarment size or are unaware that their undergarment size do change as they age.

Participants were then introduced to Wacoal's latest range of foundation garments known as Magic X. The Magic X range was unveiled to participants in a Fashion Show when two models appeared, each wearing a complete set of Magic X foundation garments, which consists of a bra, a vest and a girdle. The "X" in Magic X is supposed to denote the hourglass shape of a woman's body and is meant to enhance a woman's appearance thereby giving one that crucial missing "X" Factor. The three functions performed by the Magic X range is, to enhance the breasts, reduce the waistline and lift up the buttocks.
Participants were told that the ageing process affects the shape of a woman's body and that these bodily changes can be minimised and mitigated by wearing the correct size of underwear. The Magic X range is meant for those seeking to enhance their body shape, whether post pregnancy or otherwise, and in doing so it will enhance one's appearance, image and outlook, thereby creating a better body silhouette overall. These undergarments come in a range of bras, vests and girdles. The Magic X vest provides a push-in and lift-up effect and also provides a tummy tuck and waist enhancement. Its higher elasticity gives one the desired comfort. The vests have an "X" shape at the back for posture correction and strong backbone support. The Magic X girdles also provides one with that all important tummy tuck thereby creating a slender look and also has higher elasticity for comfort, and again endows one with that all important perfect silhouette. Participants were then introduced to a Wacoal employee whose body measurements were taken sans Magic X undergarments on and after, with the Magic X bra, vest and girdle on. Just by looking at her, after the employee wore the Magic X girdle and vest, there were indeed noticeable differences and enhancements in her appearance, namely a more visibly enhanced cleavage, a flatter tummy and more lifted buttocks. The physical measurements taken of the employee subsequently did indeed confirm the noticeable differences which were detected by the naked eye earlier on.

These undergarments do take getting used to and participants were told to start by wearing them for 2-3 hours only initially, slowly increasing as one goes along or when one has gotten used to wearing them. Wacoal also has a range of Crosswalker girdles which is supposed to assist in weight loss as one goes about one's daily routine especially when walking around. The material for this particular range of girdles is very soft and smooth indeed. A girdle specially for weight loss and works when worn just by walking around? Sounds rather interesting isn't it? Might be worth checking out!
During the interval that evening, Wacoal staff were on hand to assist participants in their selection and purchase of undergarments. They also assisted those who wished to get themselves measured to determine whether they were wearing undergarments of the correct size or not. Participants were then treated to food and refreshments which was catered from Secret Recipe and thereafter a Lucky Draw was conducted whereby five lucky ladies walked away with an additional Goodie Bag and a Wacoal voucher. The evening concluded with the participants collecting their respective Goodie Bags at the Registration Counter as they left.
